Engine & Transmission

The Jeep Grand Cherokee has a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that churns out 293 horsepower, with rear-wheel drive as the standard configuration but several all-wheel-drive systems available for those who want to have more flexibility and greater off-road capability. An optional electronically locking limited-slip differential optimizes traction and capability in demanding road conditions.

For the off-road enthusiast, the Trailhawk is a launchpad to new heights of off-roading capability. Here, it features special items like an air suspension which can lift the truck to 11.3 inches, which should be great for rocky ascents and climbs over the rough terrain. In addition, the disconnecting anti-roll bar improves wheel articulation, allowing the Grand Cherokee to tackle much more formidable obstacles.

Features

The newest iteration of the Grand Cherokee brings along a thoroughly reworked interior to get it within reach of today's expectations, replacing the slightly out-of-date cabin found in the old model. Whereas the base Laredo trim is all an individual needs for the straight-up SUV experience, the Summit and Overland trims step it up inside.

Upper-grade models bring quilted leather upholstery, rich and elegant, and open-pore wood trim that borders on the sophisticated. And of course, high-tech features abound, with digital displays aimed at providing cabin space with a cutting-edge flavor. The tech inside the Grand Cherokee is impressive. 

Floating above the dashboard is a choice between an 8.4-inch or 10.1-inch touchscreen, both of which include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM satellite radio as standard equipment. For those who need real-time updates while navigating, in-dash navigation with traffic and weather information is available as an option.

We think the Jeep Grand Cherokee base variant is a good enough car for most drivers. It has enough performance, features, and safety equipment to ensure you have a good time driving it. So if you are on a tight budget, you do not have to spend the extra 90-odd thousand SAR and get the top trim.
